By creating an account, accessing Requestam, or using any marketplace feature, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. Mandatory rights under Nigerian law remain unaffected.
1. Marketplace role
Requestam operates a technology marketplace where buyers describe products they need and eligible sellers may respond with fixed item-price offers. Requestam provides matching, comparison, messaging, reputation, moderation, and account tools.
Requestam is not a buyer, seller, manufacturer, distributor, payment institution, escrow provider, courier, insurer, agent, broker, guarantor, or party to a transaction between users. We do not own, inspect, possess, price, sell, deliver, or warrant products offered by sellers. A user’s statement or conduct does not bind Requestam.
We may display categories, verification badges, ratings, locations, or matching results to help users assess options. These features are informational and do not constitute an endorsement, warranty, professional advice, or guarantee.
2. Eligibility, accounts, and verification
You must be at least 18, legally capable of contracting, and permitted to use the service under applicable law. You must provide accurate and current information, use your own identity, maintain control of your sign-in method and device, and promptly report suspected unauthorised access.
You are responsible for activity conducted through your account unless caused by Requestam’s breach of a legal duty. Accounts may not be sold, rented, shared as a service, or created for another person without authority. One account may switch between Buying and Selling modes.
Sellers may be required to complete identity or business verification and manual approval before sending offers. Verification confirms only the checks described at the time. It does not guarantee a seller’s honesty, financial standing, inventory, authority to sell, product quality, or future behaviour. Requestam may re-check or revoke seller eligibility when information changes or risk arises.
3. Requests, offers, acceptance, and chat
- A request must represent a genuine need and accurately describe the product sought. It must not be deceptive, unlawful, duplicative, speculative, or posted to harvest seller information.
- Sellers must offer only products they are authorised and reasonably able to supply. The submitted amount must be the final item price, excluding separately agreed delivery unless clearly stated otherwise.
- Requestam is not an auction or bidding service. Buyers are not required to publish a budget, and sellers must not use misleading, provisional, or bait pricing.
- An offer is not accepted until the buyer completes the in-app acceptance action. Acceptance fixes that item price in Requestam and opens the relevant conversation.
- A buyer may accept multiple offers. Accepting one does not automatically reject other offers, guarantee purchase, or mark the request fulfilled.
- Chat is tied to a particular request and accepted offer. Users should keep relevant terms in that conversation so there is a clear record.
- Requests and offers may expire, close, be withdrawn where permitted, or become unavailable because of limits, enforcement, technical errors, or changed eligibility.
4. Payments, delivery, inspection, and transaction risk
Users arrange payment, inspection, pickup, delivery, returns, warranties, taxes, receipts, and any delivery charge directly. Requestam does not collect, hold, transmit, refund, reverse, or guarantee marketplace payments. Delivery charges are separate from the accepted item price unless the buyer and seller expressly agree otherwise.
Before paying or handing over an item, users should independently confirm identity, product ownership, specifications, condition, authenticity, serial or IMEI status where relevant, accessories, warranty, return terms, payment destination, and safe handover arrangements. Never share passwords or one-time codes. Users assume the risks of choosing to transact, including non-delivery, counterfeit or defective goods, theft, payment reversal, personal injury, and disputes with another user.
Any refund, repair, replacement, return, delivery claim, or warranty obligation belongs to the buyer and seller under their agreement and applicable law. Requestam may assist with records or moderation but is not required to mediate, reimburse, or enforce an external transaction.
5. Prohibited products and conduct
You must not use Requestam for stolen, counterfeit, recalled, unsafe, unlawfully imported, restricted, or otherwise illegal products. You must not commit or facilitate fraud; impersonate a person or business; provide false verification information; manipulate ratings or offers; harass, threaten, discriminate, or exploit another person; send spam; distribute malware; scrape or resell data; reverse engineer the service; bypass access controls or limits; create coordinated fake activity; or interfere with platform operation.
You must not publish another person’s private information without lawful authority, use chat to request unnecessary identification or financial secrets, misrepresent an accepted price, or move communications elsewhere to conceal prohibited conduct. Requestam may introduce more detailed category or safety policies, which become part of these Terms when published.
6. User content and licence
You retain ownership of content you submit. You give Requestam a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, adapt for technical display, moderate, and show that content only as reasonably needed to operate, secure, promote, and improve the service. This licence ends when the content is deleted, except where retention is required for backups, safety, legal compliance, disputes, or content already shared with other users.
You confirm that you have the rights and permissions needed for your content and that it does not infringe privacy, intellectual-property, publicity, or other rights. Requestam may remove or restrict content without assuming a duty to monitor every submission.
7. Reports, moderation, and enforcement
Users may report conduct and block accounts. Requestam may review profiles, requests, offers, verification records, conversations, device signals, and related evidence when addressing fraud, safety, legal, or policy concerns.
We may reject seller applications; remove or limit content; warn users; restrict features; suspend or ban accounts; preserve evidence; reverse platform states; or report suspected unlawful conduct. We may act without advance notice when delay could create risk, prejudice an investigation, or breach law. An appeal, where offered, does not suspend a restriction or erase the original record.
Moderation and verification reduce risk but cannot detect every false statement, unsafe product, or bad actor. A failure to remove content or restrict a user immediately does not waive our right to act later and does not make Requestam responsible for that user.
8. Intellectual property
The Requestam name, logo, design, software, databases, and platform content supplied by us are owned by or licensed to Requestam and protected by applicable law. Except for ordinary use of the service, no right is granted to copy, modify, distribute, sell, sublicense, frame, scrape, or create derivative works from them.
9. Availability, changes, and third parties
The service is provided on an “as available” basis. We may change, test, suspend, or discontinue features, categories, locations, limits, eligibility requirements, or the service itself. We do not promise continuous access, a minimum number of offers, successful matching, error-free operation, preservation of every draft, or compatibility with every device.
Third-party sign-in, verification, hosting, notification, social-media, payment, banking, delivery, or communication services operate under their own terms. Requestam is not responsible for their availability, decisions, security, content, or acts, except to the extent the law makes us responsible for our selection or use of a provider.
10. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Requestam disclaims implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, uninterrupted availability, and marketplace outcome. We do not warrant user identity beyond the stated checks; seller authority; product existence, ownership, authenticity, safety, condition, legality, quality, compatibility, or warranty; buyer ability or intention to pay; or completion of payment or delivery.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Requestam and its owners, officers, staff, contractors, and service providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, exemplary, punitive, or consequential loss; loss of profit, revenue, data, goodwill, opportunity, or anticipated savings; or loss arising from another user, off-platform conduct, payment, delivery, theft, counterfeit goods, product defects, personal meetings, unauthorised account access caused by the user, or reliance on marketplace content.
Where Requestam is legally liable and liability cannot be excluded, our total aggregate liability arising from the service will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid directly to Requestam during the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim or ₦10,000. This cap does not apply where applicable law prohibits a cap, including liability that cannot lawfully be limited for fraud, wilful misconduct, gross negligence, death, personal injury, or mandatory consumer rights.
Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts, or modifies a right or remedy that the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Act 2018 or another applicable law says cannot be excluded, restricted, or modified.
11. Indemnity
To the extent permitted by law, you will defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Requestam and its owners, officers, staff, contractors, and service providers from third-party claims, losses, liabilities, penalties, and reasonable legal costs arising from your content, products, transaction, breach of these Terms, violation of law, infringement of another person’s rights, or misuse of the service. This obligation does not apply to the extent a loss was caused by Requestam’s own unlawful conduct.
12. Suspension, termination, and survival
You may stop using Requestam and request account deletion. We may suspend or terminate access under these Terms. Termination does not undo accepted prices or external agreements already made between users. Provisions concerning ownership, licences needed for retained records, transaction responsibility, disclaimers, liability, indemnity, disputes, and accrued rights survive termination.
13. Complaints, disputes, and governing law
Contact us first with a clear description and supporting records so we can try to resolve a service complaint. A dispute between buyer and seller remains their responsibility, although Requestam may provide available records or take platform action.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Subject to mandatory consumer rights and the jurisdiction of a competent regulator, disputes involving Requestam will be submitted to courts of competent jurisdiction in Lagos State, Nigeria. Users may also exercise rights available through the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission or another competent authority.
14. General terms
If a provision is held invalid or unenforceable, it will be limited or removed only to the minimum extent necessary and the remaining provisions will continue. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign your account or these Terms without our written consent. We may assign them as part of a restructuring, financing, merger, acquisition, or transfer of the service.
These Terms, the Privacy Policy, and any policies expressly incorporated into them form the agreement between you and Requestam concerning the service. We may update them for legal, safety, or product reasons and will provide appropriate notice of material changes.
