Important: Requestam does not process purchases, payments, card details, escrow, delivery payments, or refunds between buyers and sellers. Deals are agreed on the platform, then payment and fulfilment happen directly between users outside Requestam.

1. Introduction

Requestam respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, how we use it, who we may share it with, and the choices you have when using our mobile application, website, and related services.

2. Information We Collect

Account information: We collect your name, email address, phone number, password credentials, profile details, and account preferences when you register or update your account.

Business information: For sellers and business accounts, we collect business name, business address, business contact details, business category, and Company Registration Number.

Seller verification information: Sellers must provide a Company Registration Number and complete NIN verification. NIN verification is handled automatically through a government-licensed verification provider. We do not have access to the full NIN after verification. We store only the last 4 digits of the NIN as a verification reference.

Marketplace activity: We collect information you submit or generate on Requestam, including buyer requests, seller offers, product or service descriptions, prices, photos, categories, messages, reviews, reports, and support communications.

Location information: With your permission, we may collect location information or location preferences to match buyers with relevant nearby sellers and requests.

Device and usage information: We may collect device type, operating system, app version, IP address, log data, approximate location from network information, pages or screens viewed, actions taken, crash reports, and analytics events.

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only where needed to provide, secure, or comply with Requestam.

With other users: We show marketplace information needed for buyers and sellers to interact, such as names or business names, profile information, request details, seller offers, ratings, messages, and relevant business details.

With verification providers: We share the information required to complete seller verification. NIN verification is processed by a government-licensed verification provider. We receive and store verification status and the last 4 digits of the NIN only, not the full NIN.

With service providers: We may use trusted providers for hosting, database storage, authentication, analytics, crash reporting, notifications, customer support, email delivery, and security monitoring.

For legal and safety reasons: We may disclose information if required by law, court order, regulatory request, fraud investigation, safety issue, rights enforcement, or to protect users, the public, or Requestam.

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect personal information, including access controls, secure infrastructure, encryption where appropriate, monitoring, and limited internal access. No system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

You are responsible for keeping your password and device secure and for contacting us if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.

We keep personal information for as long as needed to provide Requestam, maintain records, support verification, prevent fraud, resolve disputes, enforce our Terms, and comply with legal obligations.

For seller verification, we store the Company Registration Number and verification records. For NIN, we store only verification status and the last 4 digits; we do not store the full NIN.

If you delete your account, we will delete or de-identify personal information unless we need to retain it for legal, security, fraud prevention, dispute, or legitimate business reasons.

Subject to applicable law and verification requirements, you may ask us to access, correct, delete, restrict, or update the personal information we hold about you. You may withdraw location permission through your device settings and opt out of marketing communications where available.

We may need to verify your identity before completing a request. Some information may be retained where required for legal, fraud prevention, security, or dispute purposes.

Requestam is not intended for users under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we learn that a child has provided personal information, we will take reasonable steps to delete it.

Requestam may use or link to third-party services such as verification providers, map/location services, analytics tools, hosting providers, notification services, and external websites. Their handling of personal information is governed by their own terms and privacy policies.

We may use cookies, local storage, device identifiers, analytics events, and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember preferences, understand usage, detect abuse, and improve Requestam.

11. Off-Platform Transactions

Because no purchases are made on Requestam, we do not collect or store payment card numbers, bank login details, escrow information, or payment authorization data for buyer-seller transactions. If you choose to share payment, delivery, or pickup information directly with another user, you do so outside Requestam and should take appropriate precautions.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will take reasonable steps to notify users. Continued use of Requestam after updates means you accept the revised policy.
